I’m glad he has moved on,
and I’m glad he found happiness,
but there is a small part of my heart
that wishes he was wishing
to be with me.
This Summer
I can feel summer in the air, waiting for spring to finish so it can roll in the heat. My first year of college is almost over, and this summer, unlike previous summers, I will be spending this one at my dads house. He lives out in the country, which is nice in the summer. I am looking forward to afternoons in the sun, cutting grass and reading in the shade. Now that his house will be...
100 Years
I don’t want to stay young forever.
In my religion class today we were talking about the United State’s obsession with staying young. The uses of plastic surgery and cosmetics in order to stay younger longer are a cultural trend.
but, what about getting older?
I’m still young, and I enjoy getting older. Every year a new year with new challenges, joys, and surprises. My...

puzzle pieces
I have a habit of being kind of curious,
asking questions, gaining answers.
I put them together like puzzle pieces
to get the picture that isn’t quite as easy
to see, as an individual piece.
But, I know there are too many pieces
I don’t have yet, to really see
who is in the words I read.
This doesn’t mean that I will stop asking,
gaining pieces to your puzzle,
because...

let it play, babe
play my heart like a violin,
let the music pulse through us
and make the moment last forever.
play my heart like a trombone,
and let the deep notes fuel
our perfect intimacies.
play my heart like a piano
each move precise and delicate,
each note a new notion.
but most important of all,
play my heart with your music,
and i will always keep beat.

i squished a spider

my only fear is
misfit-words asked: Words for words and hand
In hand, we could share the stars
And maybe our hearts...
Thank you for the amazing words, I wanted to know if it would be alright to share them on my wall along with my answer?

have a wonderful day!
study break
my mind is buzzing with thoughts.
they zoom around with no real destination,
just existing.
i find studying to be almost impossible
with thoughts flying to and fro.
my cousin’s graduation.
the future of technology.
weekend plans.
papers due.
memories of last year.
wal-mart list.
they all whiz by each other, flashing across the screen in my mind,
never colliding.
i imagine trying...

Missing class because
I ran out of clean clothes and
They won’t wash themselves
denver
when our messes are sorted
our paths will finally cross.
then, can you just take my hand and run?
have your keys ready, and lead me to the road.
take me to Denver babe,
and leave the map behind.
we will get there one day.

Dad, I waited for my hour or two.
I was only there to see you.

this speech for my core class....
I’m not a huge fan of giving speeches to my class. Granted, I should overcome it because I want to be a teacher one day, but right now I’m just trying to deal with tomorrow. Tomorrow morning, 8am, I give my speech on art education in schools. I’m passionate about my topic, and I feel as if I make some good points, but whenever I get nervous I smile a lot, and when I try to talk...
must. finish. speech.
its that feeling you get
when your homework is almost done
but, you just cant seem to press on.
the feeling of ‘since its almost done
I have awhile to spare’
two hours later, your unfinished speech
still stares at you.
the chinese take out has been eaten.
there is nothing on facebook (surprise).
staring into space was nice for awhile, however,
my room mate is giving me odd...
Our Jar
We are contained in glass,
So we can always look at yesterday,
But never touch.
Undisturbed, our jar sits on the top shelf.
On and on we live our lives,
Trying to forget it’s there.
While it yells in its stillness to be reopened.
But, to open that jar,
To try and taste yesterday and all of its young, sweet hopes,
Would only be a reminder to us both.
‘Us’ expired a while ago.
